Food

Choose one of the following programs (you can choose more than one, but for start you can stick to only one). Before eating any of the following foods whatsoever, make sure of not being allergic to any of them.

  1. One serve of berry a day for a week.
  2. Add one serve of berry (any type, well the purple ones are the best) to your diet. They are rich in Flavonoid which has a proven anti-Alzheimer effect.
  3. Add one apple or one pomegranate, one avocado or one grapefruit in your daily diet for a week. They also contain good level of Flavonoid.
  4. One serve of vegetable a day for a week.
  5. Any vegetable is acceptable. Beautiful red, green or yellow capsicum, purple potato or eggplant (purple is always the best anti Alzheimer’s color), orange or purple carrot, well any vegetable. Make yourself a salad. If you don’t have time for it (it take 5 min, between the TV ads), just grab a carrot and bite it!
  6. One serve of nuts
  7. A handful (very small cup) of walnut, pistachio, almond, peanut (make sure of not allergic to any of them before eating, allergy to nuts could be life threatening, especially for the kids).
  8. Cut your fried (especially deep fried) food for a week.
  9. I am not asking you to stop eating fast food (if you can, that is the best, but for now, we start with small steps). Cut the time that you go to fast food to half. If you can’t, do this. Next time you go to a fast food place, choose wisely. Instead of coke or diet coke (it’s even worse), chose apple or orange juice. Large fries could be replaced by small one, and a grilled chicken could be better that a crispy deep fried one.
  10. Cut the amount of processed food.
  11. Proceed food contain a range of preservatives. The preservatives can cause oxidative damage to the cells and have been suggested as the source of many disease. Try to replace them with the fresh products, such as fresh meat, or fresh chicken. Try to do it for a week, and record how many times you were successful in achieving this goal.
